Eagle Eye releases cloud-controlled VMS

AUSTIN, Texas—New provider Eagle Eye Networks opened for business Jan. 21 and released its on-demand, secure, cloud-managed Eagle Eye Security Camera VMS, the same day, according to a news release.

The VMS system also features intelligent bandwidth management and complete privacy encryption, while supporting a wide variety of IP and analog cameras.

“To date, excessive bandwidth requirements and security vulnerability concerns have hindered broad adoption (of cloud-based VMS),” said Dean Drako, president and CEO, in a prepared statement.  “We have spent the last 18 months working extensively with customers to ensure our Eagle Eye Cloud Security Camera VMS captures the full potential of the cloud and overcomes these challenges.”

The Eagle Eye VMS lets users view live or stored video from mobile devices or web browsers, set up email and SMS alerts and set specific permission levels for different users, according to the statement. Software is automatically updated and uses redundant cloud-based architecture for data protection. Users may choose how much video to store in the cloud and on site, according to the statement.
