Ackerman vet buys Atlanta locksmith company

ATLANTA--Burt Kolker, a security consultant with Ackerman Security Systems, and his wife, Susan Kolker, have purchased Sandy Spring Locksmiths, Safes and Security also of Atlanta. Financial details of the purchase were not disclosed.
The purchase includes electronic systems, fire and burglar alarm, video surveillance and access control, keys, locks, rekey services, 24/7 lockout services, and a product line of safes.
Susan Kolker will take over as chief executive officer of the newly acquired company. Burt Kolker will remain employed with Ackerman and will lead a marketing partnership between Ackerman and Sandy Spring Locksmiths.
"Burt will spearhead a marketing partnership between the two companies," said Jim Callahan, vice president of Ackerman Security Systems in a prepared statement. "The synergies between the two businesses is a natural, both residentially and commercially."
Ackerman will also monitor the company's newly installed systems.
