ADT to pay fines

in Australia PEMBROKE, Bermuda-ADT agreed to repay $141,000 to about 2,300 residential customers after the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission raised concerns over taxes the company charged on long-term monitoring contracts. The ACCC said that certain contracts from ADT did not allow the company to pass along any Goods and Services Tax liability to its customers. The company agreed and said it would contact affected customers and apologize for the mistake. The Australian commission said it is investigating other GST tax issues relating to other long-term contracts in other industries. AMS adds remote video to offering METAIRIE, La.-Alarm Monitoring Services has added remote video monitoring services to its offering because of dealer requests. The company is offering several levels of the service depending on the number of cameras needed and the level of security required for the job, company officials said. The system can be custom configured for residential and commercial customers, such as convenience stores, retail operations, gas stations, industrial plants, warehouses as well as homes. The company also added GPS monitoring and E-link Internet access over the past few months. Bold debuts software GURNEE, Ill.-Bold Technologies has introduced Navision CRM-Service, an enterprise level software package for alarm dealers that can provide contact and service contract management, as well as job scheduling, planning and dispatching of a company's service fleet. Navision also enables a company to communicate with service tehcnicians using PDAs or mobile phones while GPS tracks the trucks. The product was created through a partnership with Navision Software.
