Aeris provides wireless connectivity for Earthwave

SAN JOSE, Calif.--Aeris, a wireless communications service provider, announced this week it will provide wireless connectivity for Earthwave Technologies, a web-services provider that specializes in back-end software that allows fleet operators and construction customers to manage, track and monitor their business and assets. "Our application solution is to help bring critical information gathered from equipment and integrate that with the accounting systems to [help our customers] better manage their fleets," said Michael Paredes, vice president of Earthwave Technologies. "Aeris provides the wireless backbone to transmit the information from the device to our Web application." The Earthwave solution quickly alerts end users if assets are not where they are supposed to be. The Morey Corporation, a manufacturer of telematic units that collect GPS data from fleet vehicles, will provide the hardware component for the fleet management solution. The tri-partnership has been developed over the course of several years. "We've been working with Aeris for seven years and now we're using GSM and a digital network," said Paderes. "This is a renewal of our agreement to work together with a new hardware platform." Chris Purpura, vice president of marketing for Aeris also said the partnership has been strongly developed over the years. "With a lot of these kinds of wireless monitoring solutions, there are a lot of pieces that have to come together," he said. "Morey was our partner in designing the hardware, we do the software for the wireless communications and then it runs on our network and we ensure that the devices are operating properly. Earthwave builds the back-end host application and the whole thing is packaged by Earthwave." For more on this story, see the December issue of Security Systems News.
