American Alarm taps sales director

ARLINGTON, Mass.—James Cook, sales manager for American Alarm and Communications, based here, has been appointed to the company's newly created position of sales director, according to a company statement.
In the new position, Cook will oversee residential and commercial sales operations for the entire company. He will work closely with the general managers of each branch office to establish sales goals and programs, recruit and train new sales staff, and coordinate the security products offered across the company.
“Since joining American Alarm in 2010 James has proven himself to be an effective leader who is able to achieve goals even during challenging economic times,” Wells Sampson, president of American Alarm, said in a statement. “I am confident that James's demonstrated skills of team-building and good management will help our entire sales group achieve their goals.”
Prior to joining American Alarm, Cook led sales programs for an electronic media company, a uniform services company, and a national electronic security company, the statement noted.
