Brivo works out access to gyms Partnership with ClubReady opens doors for integrators

BETHESDA, Md.—Brivo dealers have a foot in the door of the $25 billion fitness club business, thanks to a new integration between Brivo's Web-based access control software and systems and health-club management software provider ClubReady.

The ClubReady software “includes basic functionality for health club or wellness facilities including client billing, client check-in, personal training program management—anything [that happens inside a health club],” explained Brad Denton, ClubReady CEO. “The only thing we could never address is the remote-access requirement.”

With the proliferation of 24/7 health clubs, more and more potential clients were asking for this feature, Denton said. So ClubReady went looking for a Web-based access control provider to partner with and found Brivo.

“We could not work with a provider that had a requirement to have something installed … it had to happen over the Web,” he said. “Brivo is one of the few Web-based providers of this service.”

Roughly 20 percent of health clubs have 24/7 access and the number is growing, Denton said.

Brivo will refer its integrator partners to ClubReady customers, said JJ Jadali, Brivo manager of business development, who managed the integration with ClubReady software.

The fitness industry has “steady growth and solid profits,” Jadali said. “It's great [for our integrators] to get into this business.”
