SAN FRANCISCO--"We had a good year in Sacramento," Alan Edelstein, legislative advocate for the California Alarm Association, told CAA members at their December convention.
Among several changes that Edelstein briefed members on, was a bill he worked to pass (AB 2073) that streamlines the contract process for installers and customers.
Previously, an installer was required to use two separate contracts when installing a dual security and fire system. The new provision enables installers to use one contract as long as the cost of the fire components is less than $500.
