CGL introduces franchise model

CGL introduces franchise model John Nemerofsky to lead CGL Technologies, new franchise group created to lead growth effort

WESTWOOD, Mass.—CGL Electronic Security Inc, an electronic security products and services provider based here, recently introduced a new franchise model strategy to grow their national business, and announced its first franchise location in Philadelphia.

The new franchise group, CGL Technologies LLC, will partner with CGL Electronic Security Inc. and be run by John Nemerofsky, who has been named president of the new company.

“The combination of CGL's integration expertise and the history of John Nemerofsky's success establishing new ventures will provide our clients the ability and confidence to use our services for all their locations,” Ron Ludvigsen, CEO of CGL Electronic Security Inc., said in the announcement, noting that Nemerofsky has a history of success building teams and a strong track record of leadership in the security industry.

Nemerofsky told Security Systems News that the franchise model provides benefits to all parties involved, and franchisees will experience training and support assistance in funding, the selling power of CGL Electronic Security's brand, the use of an established business model, national and regional advertising campaigns and more.

“Ron Ludvigsen and I did a lot of research around franchising and the franchise model and the idea that when people start up in this business as integrators, it really is hard to get started,” Nemerofsky said. “So we think giving them all of these tools to get started and grow will get them to where they want to go more quickly. So that is why it is an easy investment for us to make.”

Nemerofsky said that the company has mapped out a plan to open 54 locations over a five-year period.

“We want to start slowly and give our first handful a lot of attention,” he said. “We have labeled them internally the fab five, and as we bring these franchises on, we want to work through the training and the start-ups and really perfect that process over the next handful of months and then just put our foot on the gas after that.”

He pointed out that the company has created a ”success algorithm,” and “taken the time to put together all of our processes and procedures into an operating manual, just over 800 pages, which tells you how to do everything that we do,” he said, adding that the company also created a training program called CGL University. “We have spent a lot of time on this, and created it with the idea that, as these franchises grow they are going to be in all the time for training on our systems and processes, and as they hire new employees, they will continue to send people through.”

CGL Technologies LLC also announced the opening of its first office in Philadelphia, which will be headed by security industry veterans Remo Patitucci and Jon McCormack.

“We are thrilled to launch our first office in Philadelphia, which is a growing hub for startups, with a vibrant and educated work force and a business friendly environment,” Nemerofsky said, noting that CGL Electronic Security had another great year of growth, and has made a significant investment to get CGL Technologies started.

“It has been a lot of fun to build this out and has taken us about a year to do it, but we are excited to go to market now,” he added.
