Five Questions: Marty Borer
Marty Borer, 36, is the new general manager of Quick Response, a 24/7 monitoring company for security and burglary, fire, PERS and two-way voice monitoring. Before joining the company, based in Cleveland, he worked in operational management and IT, and, also, previously ran a dry cleaning business. Joining a security company fulfilled his desire to widen his skillset, he said. Security Systems News caught up with Borer to ask him five questions.
What do you like about the Cleveland area?
I live in Avon Lake. It’s within walking distance to the beach and playgrounds for my two little girls, Gabriella, 4, and Audrey, 1.
Do you have a pet?
We have a dog, Dublin, a Labradoodle. He’s 6 years old, and he’s really good with the kids. They like to lie on him. He enjoys family walks with us and likes to play outside with the girls.
What do you like to do when you have spare time?
Outside of family and work time, my time is spent on the golf course. I’m an average player. I like to play in fundraiser scrambles. Quick Response is putting together a dealer appreciation golf outing in August.
Where are you from originally?
I’m from Toledo. I’ve always thought about moving to a warmer climate, but there has been nothing to facilitate that.
Being new at Quick Response, what’s something company employees don’t know about you?
Between family and work, I’m pretty boring. I’ve been in Ohio my entire life. I’m a Detroit Lions fan.
