Gen. Colin L. Powell to speak on diplomacy and the world at ASIS

ORLANDO, Fla.--General Colin L. Powell, the former U.S. Secretary of State from 2001 to 2004 and a luminary on the global and national security challenges of this century, will be the keynote speaker at the ASIS International 51st Annual Seminar and Exhibits being held September 12 to 15 at the Orange County Convention Center here. From professional soldier to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to U.S. Secretary of State, Powell will draw on experiences from his careers in defense, diplomacy and public service. Powell will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the convention center. ASIS officials expect Powell's speech will provide unique insight on efforts to stabilize the world. Other general sessions during ASIS include Dr. Ken Blanchard, a management expert and business consultant, who will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 8 a.m to 9 a.m. On Thursday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m to noon, attendees can participate in a "Meet the Press"- style program, chaired by TV commentator Stuart Varney designed to examine key areas of interest to security management professionals.
