Homesafe to move

HUNT VALLEY, Md.--Homesafe Security Systems, which has a division that specializes in high-end custom security applications, will move into new headquarters later this year. "The offices are in the same town. We've done the structural work and are working with designers for the interior layout of the new offices," said Stuart Forchheimer, president of the company. In business since 1993, Homesafe was into structured wiring before its competitors, Forchheimer said, and they've developed partnerships with local high-end builders as well as some "very large production builders." After working with "a couple of different dealer programs," said Mark Recene, vice president of sales and marketing, Homesafe is now a GE Security Professional dealer. Homesafe has 2,000 accounts, 80 percent residential and 20 percent are commercial. Homesafe also has a separate audio/video division. When they move into their new headquarters, Forchheimer said he's likely to "spin off the audio/video division to form a separate company. We will probably have several showrooms, for builder sales, retail trade and for our audio/video division."
