Honeywell Power Products offers free intro course

NORTHFORD, Conn--Honeywell Power Products announced in September that it will offer a National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association-approved course called “Fundamentals of Power Supplies†free-of-charge.
The course is designed for those with “intermediate experience in fire alarm system installation, service or design,†according to a statement. Students receive 0.2 CEU credits upon completion.
This two-hour course will introduce students to power usage in security and fire systems, and address the fundamentals of power application in video, access control, intrusion and fire systems. Terminology and model selection are covered along with voltage and wire-gauge calculations. Upon completion, students will be able to select the right power supply given a set of system parameters.
