As Security Systems News went to press, the Kaba Group was in negotiations with Masco Corporation to buy Computerized Security Systems, manufacturers of access control solutions and door hardware under the brands Saflok and La Gard. In 2005, CSS generated $73 million in sales. The transaction was awaiting European antitrust approval, but Kaba announced that current Kaba Mas general manager, Carl Sideranko, will run CSS following the completion of the deal, which was expected by early August.
