TAMPA--The Florida Legislature approved a bill in the beginning of May that affects fire safety in nursing homes, reported the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The legislation requires all of the state's nursing homes to install automated fire sprinkler systems by Dec. 31, 2008. There are approximately 35 nursing homes affected by the proposed bill including one in Pasco County, Fla., four in Pinellas County, Fla., and one in Polk County, Fla.
