New NUUO enters with H.264

TAIPEI, Taiwan--A new vendor has entered the North American market, NUUO, selling DVRs and NVR software variations compatible with H.264 IP cameras. Already, the company’s NVRmini Standalone and IP+ software series are interoperable with cameras made by Arecont Vision, Axis and Sony.
Amoson Hsu, NUUO’s product manager, touted H.264’s efficient compression ability, which should reduce bandwidth use and storage needs.
Currently, the company operates a technical support center in Los Angeles, but will be hiring a sales staff that will begin using the office space in February. As of now, NUUO products can be found through distributors like Tech Data, GSS, and Digital Watch Guard.
Hsu said the company will be looking to create a dealer network in 2009. Further, the company will act as an OEM for a few North American IP product manufacturers, both allowing them to create brands and helping with large or special orders.
