NFPA Conference & Expo in Las Vegas this year

LAS VEGAS—The 2014 National Fire Protection Association Conference & Expo will be held June 9-12 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center here, the association announced Jan. 24.
In addition to 100 education sessions featuring continuing education, hands-on training and product displays, the conference will focus on health care and sustainability, according to the news release. Attendees will have the chance to learn about code changes, research and technology related to fire protection, security, and life and electrical safety.
Kurt Schwartz, Massachusetts undersecretary for homeland security and emergency management and director of the state's emergency management agency, will speak about the Boston Marathon bombings during the featured presentation Tuesday, June 10. Author and historian Michael Beschloss will speak about American history during the June 9 general session, according to the news release.
