SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Fire control panels manufactured by Digital Monitoring Products are the first network communication alarms to receive approval to be used as a secondary, or back-up, communications channels for fire system central station monitoring in New York City, the company announced last month.
This enables dealers to install the approved fire panels in commercial buildings in the city, said Terry Shelton, product quality assurance manager at DMP.
DMP, a manufacturer of IP-ready control panels, had two panels gain approval. The company's XR500 series and XR2500F fire panels passed standards set by the Materials, Equipment and Acceptance division of the New York City Department of Buildings.
