Raefield to lead Mace

HORSHAM, Pa.--Roughly six weeks after parting ways with former CEO Lou Paolino, the Mace Security International board has appointed security industry veteran Dennis Raefield as CEO and president. Raefield, who’s been a Mace board member since October 2007, will resign his post as president of Reach Systems (formerly Edge Integration) to assume his role at Mace, and becoming a Reach board member. He’s been president of Ademco and Honeywell Access, and president of Pinkerton Systems Integration, and came out of retirement in late 2007 to lead Reach, a maker of IP access control systems. Raefield said his immediate goals for Mace when he begins work Aug. 18 are to raise top line revenue and to increase Mace’s brand recognition within the electronic security space. Current interim CEO Gerald LaFlamme will step down from his post and resume his position on the Mace board.
