NEW YORK--The 12th annual Securing New Ground conference brings together traditional and new players in the security installation market with a pair of featured speakers from IBM and ADT. Kicking off the event on Nov. 13, here at the Roosevelt Hotel in the middle of the financial district, Julie Donohue, vice president of IBM Global Technology Services, will outline IBM's view of the growing security marketplace and offer a glimpse into IBM's plans for it. Then, following an integrators panel that will feature leading executives from UTC Fire & Security, Nortel and Siemens Building Technologies, ADT North America president John Koch will present a view of the market that could only come from the world's largest security system integrator and installer. These are but highlights from a conference focused on bringing together investors, industry leaders and new entrants to network, cultivate business relationships and, in the parlance of the conference, "find deals." As is customary, Jeffrey Kessler, a Lehman Brothers analyst who's been watching the security marketplace longer than any other, will begin the conference's second day with a presentation of his annual industry report, which is delivered with registration for the event. Lehman Brothers is an owner and founder of SNG, along with fellow owners ProFinance Associates, Sandra Jones and Company, and SDM and Security magazines. Other featured presentations include discussions of the state of the security-financing industry, the evolution of the dealer industry, false-alarm reduction efforts, IP convergence, end-user headaches, and RFID's role in supply chain security. The conference will end with a forward-looking discussion of technology with representatives from Cisco, Axis, SightLogix and Pelco. For information on registration, see www.securingnewground.com.
