Sonitrol and Cernium evaluate video analytic partnership

BERWYN, Penn.--Sonitrol, a provider of verified electronic security solutions, on Sept. 18 announced a partnership with Cernium Corporation, a developer of real-time video behavior recognition software, to evaluate video analytic solutions for enhanced alarm verification. Sonitrol is currently evaluating Cernium's P-Core video analytics engine with its existing CCTV systems. "We plan to use video analytics to more effectively filter incoming video alarm signals at our central station," said Gregg Groenemann, vice president of marketing and franchise operations for Sonitrol. This prospective collaboration will enhance Sonitrol's current video verification technology, SonaVision, by incorporating Cernium's video analytics capabilities to "help filter out nuisance video and further streamline our existing verification process, ultimately increasing our operational efficiency," said Groenemann. Sonitrol is currently testing and evaluating Cernium's offerings and hopes to "have the next version of our solution, SonaVision to market by the end of the year," said Groenemann.
