Spicer is interim SG prez

BOCA RATON, Fla.--Jim Spicer has taken over Dean Seavers' role as head of SimplexGrinnell on an interim basis..
"We are conducting a search to replace Dean permanently and are considering internal and possibly external candidates," a Tyco spokesperson told Security Systems News. Spicer was serving as vice president of business operations for SimplexGrinnell, the largest single business in the Fire Protection Services segment of Tyco International.
He has been with Simplex for more than 15 years and "has extensive experience with all aspects of the business." While Spicer reports to Tyco International chief executive Ed Breen, this particular segment is not a business segment like the other four global businesses, according to Paul Fitzhenry, spokesman for Tyco International. Rather it is considered a "financial reporting segment."
