Tri-Ed opens two new branches

WOODBURY, NY--Tri-Ed, an independent wholesale distributor of security and low-voltage products, has opened two new locations. A Minneapolis, Minn., branch is now managed by Joe Jungward and a Clearwater, Fla., branch is now managed by Kevin McCaffrey, a former board member of the Alarm Association of Florida. In September, Tri-Ed announced new branches in Boston and Kansas City, Mo. According to a press release, expanding Tri-Ed's footprint in the United States is "among chief operating officer Pat Comunale's priorities." In April, Tri-Ed chief executive officer Steve Roth told Security Systems News he hoped to grow from 26 to 40 branches by the beginning of 2006. These two new openings bring Tri-Ed's total to 34, with 23 in the United States and 11 in Canada. See the February issue of Security Systems News for more on Tri-Ed's growth plans and industry reaction.
