WESTFORD, Mass.—Tyco Security Products announced that Anita Santos, Tyco Security Products VP of marketing, on May 2 will speak at an event developed by Mentor Factor, a professional development program for high-potential women in the financial services industry. The event will take place in New York.

The event is supported by women on American Banker's "Most Powerful Women in Banking" list and will be attended by executives from prominent financial institutions, including Capital One, the FDIC, HSBC and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The event will feature peer roundtable discussions on professional and personal development topics, leadership insights from prominent women in the industry and keynote presentations from women at the pinnacle of the industry. The one-day event brings together women at various stages of their careers, from junior to senior level, and focuses on mentorship, networking, professional development and other key issues in financial services.

Santos is one of four speakers to participate in a panel discussion on Putting Courageous Leadership Into Practice—Inspiration from Outside Banking. She will be joined by co-panelists: Jody Adams, chef & owner of Rialto Restaurant & Bar; Jami Wintz McKeon, chair of Morgan Lewis & Bocklus LLP; and Melody E. Lee, brand strategy & planning for Cadillac. Cindy Solomon, chief executive officer of Cindy Solomon & Associates, a professional training and coaching firm, will moderate the panel discussion.

More than 300 executive leaders from the financial services industry are expected to attend the event.

“I am honored to be a part of Mentor Factor and this panel discussion, and to offer my experience and background to women on the rise in the financial industry,” said Santos. “As a female in a male dominated technology industry, I understand the value of mentoring programs for women to support their professional growth and development.”

Santos has a history of success in new product development, positioning strategies and channel management, including more than 18 years of business-to-business marketing and sales experience. As TSP VP of marketing, she leads the company's business and marketing strategy development for its video security, access control, location-based security and intrusion security solutions. Santos also manages product management teams, oversees channel marketing activities and coordinates marketing campaigns, promotions and branding for Tyco Security Products. Her previous experience includes tenure with two high profile multi-billion dollar companies, 12 years of executive leadership in science and technology and years of global business experience.

In addition to her vice president role, Santos is an SEC accredited investor and owner of Ascend Investments LLC, an angel investment firm. She is an advisory member of Astia Angels, which provides women-led start-ups with access to capital, and is a Pipeline Fellow. Santos earned an M.B.A. from Suffolk University and a B.S. in business administration in marketing and finance from Merrimack College.
