Vector partners with 3VR Partnership promises 'compelling solutions'

SAN FRANCISCO and PITTSBURGH--3VR Security, a video monitoring company that pioneered searchable surveillance, on May 5 announced Vector Security, an electronic security player in retail loss prevention, had joined 3VR's channel partner network. Dave Merrick vice president of marketing at Vector said 3VR's searchable, analytics-rich solutions were currently running in a pilot program with two Vector retail clients and so far “we've had substantially good responses.”

Al Shipp, CEO of 3VR said  “getting Vector signed up as a partner with 3VR is a continuation of a direction we've been going in for some time in getting the industry's best to join forces with 3VR to really deliver compelling solutions.” 3VR vice president of sales Gary Kallman agreed, noting that after the banking vertical 3VR's next focus was to develop partnerships with major players in national retail. “The logical progression for us was to have a partnership with a service entity such as Vector that has a national footprint and is an aggressive marketer and can sell into the retail space,” Kallman said.

Vector director of video technology Jim Rao said the 3VR partnership was a no-brainer. “I went and visited their headquarters, and I was extremely impressed by the number of people that were there for R&D,” Rao said. “There was a very open, San Francisco-based look, and feel of a bunch of intelligent people there in a think tank concept sharing ideas and developing software for this product. That, I thought, was extremely impressive, especially in this day and age when everybody's shipping their R&D overseas.”
