Vector promotes Petrow to COO

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--Vector Security announced this week that Pamela Petrow has been promoted to chief operating officer, effective July 1. "This is a new position," said Petrow during an interview with Security Systems News at ESX in Nashville. "It's a way to spread the responsibility around and it will also allow John Murphy [Vector's CEO] to have a more strategic role." In addition to her central station operations and information services group responsibilities, Petrow's new position as COO will include general operations, productivity and revenue responsibilities including sales and marketing. Petrow will remain in Vector's Pittsburg corporate office. "This isn't a foreign job to me," said Petrow. "I always put my central station face to the industry, but I've had responsibility running branch operations in previous experience [within Vector]." During Petrow's 26-year career with Vector, she has held several positions including general manager of its Pittsburg branch office. Petrow said the addition of high-level management positions at Vector is an indication of the company's growth in the market. "We've been expanding for some time now and this role was needed to address that growth," she said. "Vector has never had many levels of management, but this is a way to share operations responsibility." Michael Grady will assume Petrow's former position as executive vice president, including the administration of overall sales and marketing initiatives.
