Victor Alarcon named executive director of ALAS

MIAMI—The Latin American Security Association (ALAS) www.alas-la.org has announced that Victor Alarcon has been named as its new executive director. The appointment is effective immediately. In his new position, Alarcon will report directly to the ALAS Board of Directors.
Before being selected as executive director, Alarcon served as the association's director of operations for five years.
“The board is pleased with the leadership that Victor has shown since he was appointed director of operations. We are delighted that he will now bring his experience, reputation and record of success to the position of executive director,” said ALAS President Luis Gonzalez.
Alarcon steps into the shoes of executive director with vast international experience having studied in Russia and England and for the past 15 years traveled all over the Latin American region. Before joining ALAS, Alarcon served as editor of Ventas de Seguriad. He has a strong background in marketing communications and is fluent in English, Spanish, Russian and Portuguese.
