Wake County makes use of new public-safety band Brief

RALEIGH, N.C.--Three major public venues here--the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, N.C. State's Carter-Finley Stadium, and the Royal Bank of Canada Center--are the first to employ Motorola's 4.9 GHz MOTOMESH network, which sends video surveillance directly to Wake County public safety headquarters and patrolling police officers. The system transmits live video feeds over the 4.9 GHz public safety band, which was recently licensed by the Federal Communications Commission for use by first-responders. The newly licensed frequency provides added security and protection from interference.
