Loud Security wins two Business of the Year awards

KENNESAW, Ga.—Loud Security Systems recently received the Kennesaw Business of the Year award and the Acworth (Ga.) Business of the Year award, according to a company statement.

Here in Hollywood, Fla. on the first night of Honeywell's annual First Alert Professional Convention, the weather is balmy and we dined on shrimp and key lime pie—and felt lucky to be here.
Not too many days ago Florida was being buffeted by the high winds generated by Hurricane Sandy, and of course other parts of the East Coast—particularly New Jersey, the state Honeywell calls home—took a beating from it early this week.

NFPA's annual conference to colocate with new expo

The National Fire Protection Association Conference & Expo will be held in Chicago in 2013, from June 10 through 12.
And the NFPA just announced that it will be colocating the annual event with a brand new expo, one featuring information and products designed to improve safety for people with disabilities. What the heck is MAMU?
MAMU is a friendly little mobile app competition and meet up at the ESX show.
The Mobile App Meet-Up will take place Wednesday, June 27 from 3:45 - 5:00 PM in Booth 729 on the show floor.
What will happen? Exhibitors will do three-minute demos their mobile and tablet applications and then attendees will vote on which app they think their customers would value and would make them money.
