Meet Theresa

Senior Editor Theresa Flaherty leads Security Systems News’ editorial team, covering industry trends, emerging technologies and the businesses shaping the security landscape. She previously served as Managing Editor of HME News, Security Systems News’ sister publication, where for more than two decades she helped shape the publication’s editorial voice, leading strategy and delivering in-depth coverage of the home medical equipment (HME) industry.

A graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in English, Flaherty began her journalism career in publishing and at alternative newsweeklies, building a strong foundation in reporting and storytelling. She has produced extensive coverage across healthcare, technology and business sectors, with bylines appearing in both HME News and Security Systems News.
