“40 under 40” Class of 2019 — Anthony Iannone, 39 Director, Affiliated Monitoring

As a Director at Affiliated Monitoring, Anthony Iannone has a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including the company's video monitoring services, PERS/mPERS solutions, new product assessment/development and infrastructure planning.

“The common theme is working at the nexus of business and technology to create new solutions for our partners,” Iannone said. “I have been with Affiliated for three years, and started my work here as a member of the team responsible for bringing our monitoring center in Houston, Texas online.”

Iannone has been working in the security industry, in one way or another, for almost 15 years, and started working as an IT professional with video surveillance products when digital video recording became practical. “I saw the huge possibilities opened by being able to record multiple cameras and by providing remote access to them over the Internet, and worked to build solutions on the then nascent technology,” he explained.

Prior to Affiliated, Iannone also worked for eight years at a prominent integrator, where he designed a number of video-centric monitoring and emergency command centers. “When I came to Affiliated, I brought my extensive video integration and monitoring experience to our partners and dealers,” he said.

With the decreasing costs of cameras and bandwidth, and improvements in video analytics, Iannone believes “video will continue to become a larger part of every security dealer's portfolio. I also believe that new 5G technologies will enable a diverse IoT marketplace that will produce a whole new suite of security and alarm sensors that need no wires and no alarm panel — representing a huge opportunity for our industry. It's an exciting time to be at Affiliated, as we continue to lead the way in supporting our partners and their customers.”
