ASSA ABLOY launches next-gen exit devices

NEW HAVEN, CT – ASSA ABLOY has just announced the launch of two next-generation exit devices, the PE80 Series and the PED4000/PED5000 Series.

These devices come courtesy of SARGENT and Corbin Russwin whom ASSA ABLOY identified as long-standing leaders in the premium exit device market and contain industry-first features designed to provide enhanced safety, security, and convenience.

The company wrote that SARGENT’s PE80 and Corbin Russwin’s PED4000/PED5000 have been designed with the high-strength, durability, and security that ASSA ABLOY said its products are known for. “Today’s modern facility requires solutions that address a broad range of complex and ever-evolving security concerns,” said Bill Grambo, President, Access and Egress Hardware Group, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas. “The new PE80 and PED4000/PED5000 Series exit devices address these requirements head-on with a robust set of features that exceed our hallmark levels of security and standards of excellence. Designed for the future, these devices will set new standards for the industry, and I’m excited to introduce them to the market.”

The products reportedly are designed for longevity in the range of 20-30 years. They’re built to resist abusive conditions with sloped, flush surfaces to eliminate catch points and minimize damage related to impacts from carts. Among other improvements and features are improved delayed egress functionality and enhanced motorized electric latch retraction, multiple indicators, push rail dogging and master keying with security key systems.
