Associations set to honor two at awards dinner

NEW YORK--The second annual Tri-Association Awards Dinner is on the agenda for August 24, 2005 in New York and two industry veterans are set to receive this year's awards. For the second year, members of the Security Industry Association, the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association and the Central Stations Alarm Association will join in presenting the Triton Award at the dinner, which is held the first night of the ISC East conference here. The 2005 Award will be presented to Marc Mineau, president of Brivo Systems. The award was conceived by the three associations as a way to recognize an individual who has worked to promote ecumenical initiatives and foster close working relationships for the betterment of the industry. SIA will also bestow its highest award--the George R. Lippert Memorial Award--to David Avritt, president of SentryNet. The Lippert Award commemorates George Lippert, an industry professional whose service resulted in the increased effectiveness and professional enhancement of SIA and the security industry as a whole.
