De Fina named to SIA leadership role

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J.— Frank De Fina, Samsung Techwin SVP of sales and marketing, North America, has been appointed to the Security Industry Association Board of Directors Executive Committee.

De Fina will serve as vice chairman of the six-member committee, which is composed of industry professionals who represent a broad spectrum of electronic security interests.

“These are exciting times for the electronic security industry in terms of technology development and the expanded vision for its use,” said De Fina, in a prepared statement. “I am looking forward to serving on the executive committee and helping to steer decisions that will address and fulfill the needs of the security community both now and in the future.”

De Fina's career spans more than three decades in the professional electronics industry. He also holds positions in the International Biometrics Industry Association (IBIA) and is a board member of the Paley Center for Media (formerly Museum of Television and Radio) as well as a member of the board of the New York Friar's Club Foundation.

“Frank has provided outstanding service to SIA as a member of the board of directors,”
SIA CEO Don Erickson said in a statement. “Now that he is on the SIA Executive Committee, the organization will benefit even more from his incredible knowledge of the industry, insight into emerging trends, and commitment to promoting the overall growth of the electronic physical security sector. In selecting Frank for this position, board members recognized his vision and leadership, as well as his ability to help make SIA a stronger organization.”
