Dean to receive George R. Lippert Memorial Award

SILVER SPRING, Md.—Raymond Dean, a 39-year veteran of the security industry, has been unanimously chosen to receive the 2013 George R. Lippert Memorial Award by the Security Industry Association's Lippert Award Committee. Dean is vice president of key accounts at Stanley Convergent Security Solutions.

“Ray Dean has always put the industry first through his career and as a member of the SIA Board of Directors,” said Don Erickson, CEO of SIA, in a prepared statement. “The entire SIA community admires his accomplishments and strong efforts to foster collaboration within the security industry.”

A member of the SIA board of directors, Dean has also served as secretary, vice chairman and chairman of the New York City Chapter of ASIS, and remains chairman of the ASIS New York City Annual Trade Show. Dean is a founder and former president of SecurityNet, a group of integrators founded to provide globally integrated solutions and services to corporations. His security career began in 1974 when he founded the security systems integration firm PEI Systems, Inc., purchased first by Securitas Systems AB then by Stanley Black and Decker.

“I am overwhelmed at having been selected for this award,” said Dean, in a prepared statement. “It is an honor and extremely humbling to be recognized alongside the likes of Ken Boyda, Bill Bozeman, Sandra Jones and Les Gold to mention just a few—those that I consider the great icons of this industry.”

SIA will present Dean with the Lippert Award during the SIA Honors Night Gala, Wednesday, Nov. 20, at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in New York City.
