Linear's garage door opener wins recognition at ESX

CARLSBAD, Calif.— Linear's GD00Z Z-Wave Garage Door Controller has won the ESX Maximum Impact Award for Best Access Control/ID System for Gate/Door Operators, the company announced June 26.
Linear, a security and home automation, access control manufacturer, said in a news release that the GD00Z integrates one of the most frequently used entry points of a house—the garage door—into a wireless home control system. GD00Z allows for the remote operation and open/close status of sectional garage doors. As part of the Z-Wave mesh network in the home, consumers can now turn lights on and off, unlock Z-Wave enabled door locks including the garage door, and even disarm the alarm panel.
The GD00Z is compatible with virtually all garage door operators in the U.S., is UL325 compliant, and can be set to automatically close the garage door at specific times. Once installed, the garage door can be controlled through any compatible Z-Wave certified gateway, security or automation panel.
"The Z-Wave Garage Door Controller has been one of our most widely anticipated products in the company's 53-year history, so we're very excited about the prospects it has in smart homes throughout the world," said Linear President Michael O'Neal, in a prepared statement.
