Mid Bronx Senior Citizen Council installs Visual Sentry system

October 28, 2004 BRONX, N.Y. - The Mid Bronx Senior Citizen Council has installed a multiple-site video monitoring system using Visual Sentry’s Enterprise NVR. MBSCC, a non-profit organization that operates approximately 1,400 apartment units throughout 32 buildings in New York City, now remotely monitors and records activity at 12 buildings from a central location. Each location has four Samsung SCC931 dome cameras, DSL service and a router. The devices are operated by the Enterprise NVR product that includes a 48 camera master controller, capture storage module and a dual monitor viewing client with two monitors. According to Steve Sleicher, chief financial officer at Visual Sentry, work began in April, and it was completed in early October. Installation was initially delayed due to problems with DSL hook-up, he said. “They are interested in eventually wiring-up all the buildings,” Sleicher said. Based in Hicksville, N.Y., Visual Sentry manufactures IP network video recording products.
