SIA names Allegion’s Tony Manna chair of Data Privacy Advisory Board

SILVER SPRING, Md.—The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Tony Manna, associate general counsel and deputy chief privacy officer at Allegion, as chair of its Data Privacy Advisory Board.

The board provides guidance and best practices to help SIA members manage sensitive data and protect personally identifiable information across their organizations.

Manna oversees a range of legal and privacy matters at Allegion, advising senior leadership and business teams on regulatory compliance and risk management. He holds a bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctor and a Master of Science in cybersecurity risk management from Indiana University. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).

“I’m honored to serve as chair of the SIA Data Privacy Advisory Board and to build on the group’s strong foundation,” Manna said. “As organizations navigate an increasingly complex mix of federal, state and global privacy requirements alongside rapid advances in artificial intelligence, they need practical, experience-driven guidance.”

The Data Privacy Advisory Board has developed several industry resources, including the SIA Privacy Code of Conduct, privacy best practices for video surveillance and access control, and the Data Privacy Pro Certificate program. The group also contributed to SIA’s Security Cornerstones Learning Series with coursework focused on data privacy.

“SIA is proud to welcome Tony Manna as chair of the SIA Data Privacy Advisory Board,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “Tony’s knowledge of privacy, data protection and risk management and his leadership experience will provide significant value to the advisory board.”

Erickson added that the association expects to continue expanding the board’s educational content and resources aimed at helping security professionals navigate evolving legal and regulatory requirements.
