Fiber optic trainer to move into new location

TUKWILA, Wash. - The Light Brigade, a company that develops training programs centered around the installation of fiber optics, will move into a new facility next week that combines the company’s administration and classroom training under one roof.
The new facility features three new classrooms focusing on applications such as fiber to the home, fiber to the desk and video systems. The 10,000-square-foot facility is located 10 miles south of Seattle.

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Systems integrator Diebold Inc. appears to be on an acquisition streak. This week the company announced it bought Richmond, Va.-based Applied Systems Technologies, a deal that follows on the heels of its purchase of TFE Technology.
The purchase represents the third this year for the systems integrator. Along with buying TFE Technology, Diebold bought a company called NCI in Virginia earlier this year.

MINNEAPOLIS - Fargo Electronics experienced a slight increase of revenue for the second quarter, which ended June 30, compared to the same time period a year prior.
The company reported $17,545,000 in net sales for the quarter, up $1,053,000 from the second quarter of last year. The company’s net income for the three-month period was $1,747,000, which was consistent with its $1,766,000 net income for the same time in 2003.

BILLERICA, Mass. - Identity verification company Viisage is in talks with potential investors about a proposed sale of 7.2 million new shares of common stock.
Based on the closing price of its stock on July 28 of $6.35, Viisage is poised to raise approximately $45 million as a result of the sale.

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - Siemens Building Technologies has been selected to provide the fire detection, voice evacuation and smoke purge systems in the new Los Angeles Medical Center, a facility scheduled to open in 2007.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas - Eagle Broadband has postponed a special shareholder meeting. The meeting, originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 20, was shelved because the required number of members needed for the meeting was not reached.
The meeting was scheduled to approve the company’s yearly employee stock compensation plan. A new date has not been determined.
