Bosch inks distribution deal with Ingram Micro

FAIRPORT, N.Y.— Bosch Security Systems has signed a new distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, making its products available to the distributor's U.S. channel partners, according to a press release.

Customers of Ingram Micro's physical security unit will now have access to Bosch's portfolio of products, including video surveillance systems, intrusion detection and access control.

“The rapid adoption of IP-based systems is driving new opportunities for IT resellers and systems integrators to expand their offerings to include physical security and communications solutions for their customers,” Jeremy Hockham, Bosch president of sales, said in a statement.

Hockham added that the partnership will give Bosch access to Ingram Micro's “robust training resources and vast knowledge and experience in IP technology, integration and data storage.”

Ingram Micro offers solutions for small and medium-sized businesses, retail, education and government, the statement noted. Its training programs include physical security workshops, boot camps and solution summits.

“Physical security is a high growth category for Ingram Micro and our channel partners that spans across many vertical markets and scales from SMB to enterprise,” Tom Burns, director, Ingram Micro Physical Security Business Unit, North America, said in a statement. “We're thrilled to bring Bosch's broad portfolio of products and systems for communications, video surveillance, intrusion detection and access control to our channel partners in the U.S. and look forward to expanding Bosch's reach within the IT channel.”
