LAS VEGAS — The Secure Building Council (SBC) has announced a strategic partnership with Advanced Data Risk Management (ADRM), a provider of security consulting and technology solutions.
Through this partnership, SBC and ADRM will collaborate to support the advancement and implementation of the SHIELD Certification Program, including the development and enablement of tools, methodologies, and processes that enhance how building security is evaluated and managed.
Developed by SBC, the SHIELD Certification Program provides building owners with a recognized framework to demonstrate compliance with security industry best practices across the design, construction, and maintenance of their properties. The program evaluates buildings across four pillars: physical security, technology and systems, operations and procedures, and governance and compliance. SHIELD certifications are awarded at three tiers - Essential, Advanced, and Elite - each representing a progressively higher standard of integrated security.
As part of this collaboration, SBC and ADRM will explore opportunities to support SHIELD Assessments - the field evaluations used to determine a building’s certification level - through innovative approaches that improve consistency, scalability, and efficiency across diverse building types.
“This partnership represents an exciting step forward in advancing how we bring SHIELD to the market. ADRM brings deep expertise in both security consulting and technology, and we are excited to collaborate on shaping the future of security assessments and certification.”- Derek Ommert, Executive Director, Secure Building Council
ADRM’s experience in delivering risk and vulnerability assessments, combined with its technology capabilities, positions the company as a strong partner in supporting SBC’s mission to make security more accessible, measurable, and actionable across the built environment.
“We are pleased to partner with the SBC team to support their vision of bringing professional security certification to the building and construction community. We look forward to working together to enhance how security is assessed and operationalized across the built environment.”- Dan O’Neill, President, Advanced Data Risk Management
The partnership was announced at ISC West 2026 in Las Vegas, NV.
