Easy Aerial appoints former Air Force pilot Timothy T. Tenne as COO

BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Easy Aerial, a provider of autonomous drone-in-a-box based inspection, monitoring and surveillance solutions, announced the appointment of former FAA Division Manager and U.S. Air Force leader and pilot Timothy T. Tenne as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Effective immediately, Tenne will oversee the global day-to-day operations across Easy Aerial’s offices. His responsibilities include all production, manufacturing, regulatory and industry affairs, and safety-related operations. Tenne’s appointment coincides with the company’s rapid growth and increasing global demand for its innovative tethered and free-flight drone-in-a-box technologies.

Tenne has over 30 years of senior management experience in the military, public and private multi-mode transportation sectors. He has overseen various multimodal transportation operations, including in the aviation, rail, and transit sectors.

Tenne has also held roles in acquisition, logistics, test and evaluation, safety, regulatory, and project management, including: Serving as Senior Director of Standardization, Compliance, Regulatory Affairs; Deputy Chief Operating Officer for rail at the Maryland Transit Administration (13th largest transit agency in the nation with 3 modes of commuter rail, metro, and light rail); and Federal Aviation Administration Division Manager, a role that saw him lead aviation safety and flight standards assurance and introduce new operational processes credited for increasing aviation safety in the United States.

Tenne was also instrumental in the coordination and drafting of the nation’s first UAS (drone) regulations and standing up the the UAS division within the FAA’s Aviation Safety Directorate. His leadership led to an award from the Secretary of Transportation.

The U.S. Air Force, where Tenne served for 20 years, where he assumed roles as Director of Operations, Commander, Chief of Staff, Chief of Safety, along with other leadership roles in operations, strategy, planning, negotiations, safety, and government relations. He also has over 12,000 world-wide flying hours in over 12 separate aircraft and holds multiple type ratings and certificates from Part 107, private pilot, instrument, commercial, multi-engine CFII, and ATP.

Tenne holds a Juris Doctorate; a Master of Business Administration in Management and Finance; Master of Arts degrees in Organizational Management, Master of Art in Strategy and Policy; and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy. In addition he has broad experience and credentials in military, commercial, corporate, and general aviation.
