IRVING, Texas, and WILSONVILLE, Ore.—Everon and Teledyne FLIR have announced a strategic collaboration to bring what the companies describe as FLIR’s first UL-listed thermal imaging solution for early fire detection and monitoring to the commercial market.
According to the companies, the offering combines Everon’s fire and life safety integration expertise with FLIR’s thermal imaging technology to provide earlier detection of fire-related thermal events and faster emergency response.
FLIR's A-Series thermal imaging cameras received UL certification on Sept. 21, 2026, enabling the solution to comply with UL 2684 requirements and NFPA 72 standards for fire detection, inspection, testing and maintenance. The system is designed to detect abnormal heat signatures before a traditional fire event develops and can initiate an alarm directly through a fire alarm control panel.
The solution includes configurable alarm settings based on fixed temperature thresholds, rate-of-rise detection, percentage-of-change notifications and multiple monitoring zones within a single camera’s field of view.
The companies said the technology can cover larger areas than traditional fire detection devices, potentially reducing the number of devices required while improving monitoring capabilities.
Target applications include battery energy storage systems (BESS), utilities, energy production facilities, data centers, warehouses, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, rooftop solar installations, food and beverage operations, and recycling and waste management sites.
“Working with FLIR on this solution represents a major advancement in how early fire detection and life safety systems can be designed and deployed,” said Ryan Sandler, vice president of fire and life safety at Everon. “By combining Everon’s deep expertise in code-compliant fire and life safety integration with FLIR’s proven thermal imaging technology, we’re helping customers detect thermal events earlier, respond faster and reduce risk, particularly in complex, high-hazard environments.”
“When it comes to fire detection, the value comes down to one thing: time,” said Kyle McKinney, vice president of America sales for FLIR Advanced & Integrated Systems. “By enabling earlier detection of developing thermal events, FLIR's UL-listed thermal imaging solution gives organizations more time to respond before a fire impacts people, assets and operations.”
