Five Questions: Curtis Robertson

Curtis Robertson is now the central station manager at CPI Security, based in Charlotte, N.C. He took on the new role, in addition to his previous role as the company's account creation manager, on May 21. In late June, Security Systems News caught up with Robertson to ask him five questions.

Are you married? Do you have kids?

Yes to both. I've been married for … seven years and have three kids, aged 14, ... 13, and my youngest is 4.

Do you have any pets?

We've got a cat—his name's Simba. We found him in the bushes of my mother-in-law's house on Christmas week. He wouldn't go away, and nobody was looking for him, so we took him in as a kitten.

Are you from Charlotte originally?

No, I'm originally from Brooklyn, N.Y. I relocated to Charlotte when I was 20, so, 13 years ago.

What would you say you like most where you live now?

The weather and the pace of living are definitely different and better than New York—I like both of those things. I think it's a better place to raise a family. Stuff is less expensive and there's a lot of good food. … You're a couple hours away from the mountains and the beach here too, so there's also attractions within driving distance.

Do you have any hobbies or special interests?

I'm a big professional wrestling fan—so I'll go watch local shows—and I get a hard time about that. I'm a big sports fan, also avid gamer. I'll play video games and also trading card games. Those are good too, because [they're] all things you can do with the kids.
