Honoring the Best Systems Integrators

Honoring the Best Systems Integrators

Working together for a common goal often leads to great things.

Case in point – check out the top story on our website and you’ll notice the huge announcement we were proud to share this week, as PSA and Security Systems News joined forces to create the new Integrator of the Year and Bill Bozeman Awards, honoring the top systems integrators within the security industry.

Months of planning between SSN Editor Paul Ragusa and Candice Aragon, vice president of marketing and events at PSA, culminated in this historic announcement, and we couldn’t be happier to share this exciting news with our readers.

These awards leave no systems integrators out of the equation, as integrators on the smaller, local side to the large national companies will all be eligible to compete for the awards. Winners will be chosen in three categories - small (up to $5 million), medium ($6 million-$25 million and large (over $25 million) integration companies.

How will the winning integrators be chosen? Every award needs criteria to determine a winner, and these Integrator of the Year Awards are no exception. General criteria include:

  • Financial Success – Revenue growth year over year
  • Impact on/Involvement in the industry
  • Commitment to community
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Employee satisfaction

When we discussed what the name of the overall winner’s award should be, one name immediately came to mind – industry icon Bill Bozeman.

What can you say about Bill’s accomplishments in the security industry? His career in security has spanned more than 40 years, leading multiple security businesses, including more than 20 years as President and CEO of the PSA Security Network before retiring earlier this year and handing over the reins to Matt Barnette.

In addition, he has been recognized with numerous industry awards, including the George Lippert memorial award, the Paul Marcus award and The Security Legend Award. He was also recognized as one of the 25 Most Influential Security Executives and is a member of the Security Integration Hall of Fame. Most recently, Bozeman received the inaugural Security Legend Award from Security Systems News in 2020.

“Naming the awards after Bill Bozeman was a natural choice,” Ragusa noted. “In addition to giving more than 40 years to the industry with his security systems integration business, Bill led PSA as CEO for more than 20 years, helping the global consortium to grow and succeed, while also moving the industry forward through his leadership and dedication. Not to mention he has been a friend and mentor to me and countless others within the security industry.”

The winners of the Integrator of the Year and Bill Bozeman Awards will be honored at PSA TEC in May 2022 at the Sheraton Downtown Denver, and of course, will be featured in the pages of SSN.

“It has been very exciting to work with Security Systems News to develop awards to honor systems integrators in our industry,” Aragon said. “These awards will take a different approach and look at an organization holistically. While financial metrics are extremely important, I’m thrilled we will also be including thought leadership, employee experience and giving back. We have some top-notch integrators in this industry, and I look forward to honoring them.”

We do too, Candice. So what are you waiting for? Here’s how you nominate a worthy systems integrator for this award. Just like we do with our “40 under 40” award winners, you can fill out a nomination form and submit either as a third party or nominate yourself. Please answer each question in under 500 words. The deadline for submission is Feb. 25, 2022.

Good luck! May the best systems integrators win!
