In brief: RapidFire expands, Fable names CISO, Cloudastructure eyes growth

ST. LOUIS—RapidFire Safety & Security has acquired Pro-Alarm LLC, a Marine, Ill.-based alarm company, expanding its presence across Southern Illinois and the greater St. Louis market.

Pro-Alarm, founded in 1984, provides installation, service and monitoring of security and fire alarms, video surveillance and access control systems for commercial and government customers. The company is licensed in Illinois and holds contractor and alarm licenses in St. Louis County.

Pro-Alarm will continue to operate with its existing team, now backed by RapidFire’s expanded resources, systems and infrastructure. The acquisition supports RapidFire’s ongoing strategy of partnering with established, customer-focused providers in key markets to expand its capabilities and deliver a high-quality, consistent customer experience across its growing footprint.

“We are pleased to welcome Pro-Alarm, its employees and its customers to RapidFire,” said Brian Modglin, chief operating officer of RapidFire Safety & Security. “This partnership strengthens our position in the greater St. Louis market and expands our ability to serve customers across Illinois and Missouri.”

Pro-Alarm owner Don Satterlee said the decision was driven by long-term considerations for employees and customers.

“When thinking about the future for our employees and customers, my No. 1 goal was a continuation of the high-quality sales, service and momentum,” he said. “We did not want to just let the company we built over the last 42 years servicing our family, friends and neighbors go to a recurring monthly revenue-only buyer. The fit with RapidFire Safety & Security made sense looking to the future for our clients and employees. The continuation will be there along with the added benefit of a larger company and upward momentum for our employees, plus access to more industry products for our clients was also appealing.”

As part of the transaction, SEi’s operations will be integrated into Zeus’s platform, adding a business with more than 90% commercial revenue and a high proportion of recurring revenue. SIA report: Business is ‘good,’ say industry execs

SILVER SPRING, Md.—Security industry executives say business is good, according to a survey by the Security Industry Association (SIA), which has released its May–June 2026 Security Market Index (SMI). In the latest report, 80% of respondents reported describing business conditions at their companies as either “excellent” (19%) or “good” (61%)—an 8-point increase over the percentage of positive sentiments in the March–April survey. “It’s always good to see such positive outlooks in the industry,” said SIA Board of Directors Chair Mike Mathes. “We are fortunate to be able to do work that helps keep people safe and that improves quality of life throughout the country and around the world.” The Security Market Index, which has been regularly published by SIA for nearly 30 years, is calculated using a proprietary formula based on three-month projections related to five key business components: capital equipment spending, number of employees or hours worked, marketing spending, product/service sales and research and development. “For nearly three decades, the Security Market Index has been the definitive bellwether of market confidence in our industry, bringing in feedback from manufacturers as well as a strong response from systems integrators and security installing companies,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “This report always features candid takes from security integrators on their business performance and outlook, which is especially important because they’re often the first to feel market changes.” Special focuses of SIA’s May–June 2026 SMI include security leaders’ perspectives on the growth forecast for the industry, insights on rising inflation and a solid labor market, the impact of rising prices on security businesses and more.

Gallagher launches visitor management solution with Kenai integration

HAMILTON, New Zealand—Gallagher Security has launched a new Visitor Management Solution powered by Kenai, expanding its platform capabilities into workplace operations and visitor oversight. The solution, which is natively integrated with Gallagher’s Command Centre site management platform, is designed to manage visitor check-ins, staff workflows and facility operations across enterprise and multi-site environments. According to the company, the platform captures activities such as visitor registration, inductions, asset declarations and space bookings as structured data, providing organizations with greater visibility into daily workplace operations. Gallagher said the tool can support compliance requirements and improve emergency response and operational decision-making. The launch follows Gallagher’s earlier strategic investment in Kenai and its designation as the platform’s exclusive global distributor. "Gallagher is focused on the expanded value that security infrastructure can unlock for our customers. Kenai is a natural extension of that,” said Mark Junge, chief executive of Gallagher Security. “We're excited to bring this Visitor Management Solution to our global network.” Kenai’s platform is designed to consolidate multiple workplace functions into a single system, including visitor management, employee movement, evacuation processes, asset tracking and space utilization. “Kenai was built to extend well beyond the sign-in screen. Integrated with Gallagher’s solution, organizations get a single ecosystem that handles visitor and employee flows, inductions, evacuations, asset management, and space bookings, all connected and visible in one place,” said Rob Salzwedel, co-founder and CEO of Kenai. “The combination of Gallagher’s global scale and channel strength with Kenai’s platform depth creates something genuinely unique in market. Customers get a clear pathway from streamlined visitor management to running a connected, data-driven workplace across distributed sites,” added Stephen Bydawell, chief operating officer and co-founder of Kenai. The Visitor Management Solution is now available globally through Gallagher’s channel partners and to enterprise customers.

Fable Security names Jacob Berry CISO

SAN FRANCISCO—Fable Security has appointed Jacob Berry as chief information security officer, adding an experienced cybersecurity executive as the company seeks to help organizations reduce risk stemming from employee behavior. Berry brings 18 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity, including work in incident response, cyber operations, governance, compliance and security program leadership. In his new role, Berry will work with customers on challenges related to employee-driven security risks while helping ensure the security of Fable Security's own platform. “Most initial access comes from employees with the best intent making mistakes, choices for convenience and speed, or misjudgment, not malicious actors,” Berry said. “When I spoke to the team, it was clear they understand how people actually behave within an organization and what it takes to change that behavior. It's a psychological problem and a behavioral problem, and that’s something I'm excited to help solve.” Fable Security provides what it describes as a secure behavior management platform designed to address cybersecurity threats caused by employee error. The company said human behavior remains a major cybersecurity challenge, with roughly two-thirds of successful breaches originating from human error. Nicole Jiang, CEO of Fable Security, said Berry's experience aligns with the company's emphasis on addressing both the technical and behavioral aspects of security. “Jacob brings strong experience helping organizations solve complex security challenges and shares our belief that secure behavior management is one of the most critical issues for security teams to address today,” Jiang said. “He champions both the technical and behavioral sides of security and will play an important role in helping our customers reduce risk and strengthen their security programs.

Motorola Solutions expands Assist AI for 911

CHICAGO – Motorola Solutions has expanded its Assist AI agents and features for the 911 workflow, designed to automatically translate calls in real-time and share live 911 call audio directly with field units. The Interpreter Agent and live audio streaming capability are natively integrated into the company’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software and mobile applications that deliver 911 intelligence directly to first responders. The communication gap between receipt of a 911 call and the arrival of translation services can delay emergency response by over 70 seconds, says the company. Interpreter Agent automatically identifies a caller's language in a matter of seconds and enables real-time, automatic two-way voice-to-voice translation plus transcriptions so critical details can be communicated quickly and clearly. "In an emergency, speed and clarity almost always improve safety outcomes," said Jeremiah Nelson, corporate vice president, Motorola Solutions. "Removing time-consuming communication barriers between 911 call handlers and the community allows the right kind of help to get to the caller faster.” Additionally, first responders can now access real-time 911 conversational context in the field. They can listen to live calls, view highlighted keywords and review both concise summaries and detailed transcriptions. This seamless flow of data bridges the gap between dispatch and the field, so first responders can arrive at the scene better prepared, helping to save critical time and improve outcomes. The live data is simultaneously pushed to the agency’s real-time operations center, so they can dispatch additional resources, for example, drones equipped with an EpiPen or automated external defibrillator (AED).

Cloudastructure eyes aggressive growth to meet demand

PALO ALTO, Calif. – Cloudastructure, Inc. has expanded its direct sales organization by more than 30% as it seeks to support growing enterprise demand across its core and emerging markets. The enhanced team will support the full customer lifecycle, from lead development and solution design through implementation support and customer growth initiatives. In addition, the team is positioned to convert a growing pipeline of opportunities across multifamily housing, logistics, transportation, commercial properties and other markets where operators are turning to prioritizing proactive artificial intelligence (AI)-driven security solutions.  “We are experiencing growing interest in our platform across multiple markets, and strengthening our commercial organization is a natural next step in scaling the business,” said James McCormick, CEO of Cloudastructure. “Our platform is proving effective across multifamily, logistics, commercial and infrastructure environments, and we believe the market opportunity is substantial. This investment strengthens our ability to engage prospective customers, support existing clients and execute on our long-term growth strategy.” The investment further supports Cloudastructure’s land-and-expand strategy, which has driven continued adoption within existing enterprise accounts alongside new customer acquisition efforts. The recent additions across customer-facing commercial functions form part of a broader investment in the infrastructure required to support enterprise growth, including sales engineering, customer success and implementation support. Cloudastructure believes that as demand for AI-powered security solutions continues to grow, maintaining the organizational capacity to develop, deploy and support customer relationships at scale will be an important component of the company’s long-term growth strategy.

RapidSOS, Denise Amber Lee Foundation seek to raise emergency call standards

NEW YORK – RapidSOS and the Denise Amber Lee Foundation have partnered to raise the industry standard for emergency call quality assurance (QA) to 100% nationwide. For decades, public safety agencies have struggled to achieve the benchmark of 1% to 3% for manual call review. Together, RapidSOS and the Foundation are calling for a new gold standard: every single call reviewed, every dispatcher supported, and every agency equipped with the tools and expertise to make it happen. HARMONY AI scores 100% of calls within 90 seconds of the call end, against agency-defined rubrics, with each score linked to the exact transcript moment that triggered it. The Denise Amber Lee Foundation-certified QA evaluators set up each agency's first 10 customized scorecards and provide ongoing calibration throughout the year. All of this is built into RapidSOS QA at no additional cost to agencies. "Telecommunicators handle life-and-death calls every shift: a rollercoaster of trauma, urgency, and professional pressure,” said Michael Martin, founder and CEO of RapidSOS. “They deserve to be supported by a program built with as much care as they put into those calls. That's why it was critical for us to partner with the Denise Amber Lee Foundation to provide expertise in scorecard design, customization and calibration. Other QA tools exist, but no one else provides the expertise that 911 deserves."

Invictus Systems growing in OKC

EDMOND, Okla. – Invictus Systems, a veteran-owned home security and smart home automation firm based in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, has completed 100 residential installations across the OKC metro since beginning operations. The company installs cameras, smart locks, contact sensors, access control systems and smart home automation equipment at one-time price points. Unlike subscription-based monitoring services, Invictus Systems does not charge recurring monthly fees or require annual contracts. Customers retain ownership of installed equipment following completion of service. "The subscription model in home security is not about monitoring quality — it's about recurring revenue," said Jesse Myers, founder of Invictus Systems and CEO of parent company 2057 Holdings LLC. "Most homeowners are paying $50 a month for a service they could own outright. We think that's the wrong model for the customer, and we built our entire company around the alternative." The company has also recorded demand from homeowners who have purchased DIY (do-it-yourself) security systems but have been unable to complete self-installation. Invictus Systems provides professional installation services for these customers without requiring a monitoring agreement. "We get a lot of calls from people who bought a DIY kit, and it's been sitting in a box for three months," said Myers. "We come in, install it properly, make sure everything is integrated and working, and they're done."

TMA names Motorola Solutions platinum partner

MCLEAN, Va. – The Monitoring Association (TMA) has named Motorola Solutions a Platinum Communications Partner in support of the Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP), recognizing the company's leadership in improving the public safety ecosystem, telecommunicator wellness and modernizing digital alarm communication between monitoring centers and public safety agencies. As one of the largest providers of computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, Motorola Solutions encourages ASAP adoption among emergency communications centers (ECCs) and works to provide connectivity to ASAP Service within its CAD solutions. "Working with Motorola Solutions CAD systems enables us to meet agencies where they already are - within their existing CAD environments," said Karen Carlson, vice president and general manager of ASAP Service. In 2025, Motorola Solutions introduced a cloud-based capability to simplify integrating ASAP alarm data into emergency communications workflows. The company recently expanded this capability across its command center software portfolio, including CommandCentral Aware, PremierOne and Flex, to promote seamless ASAP connectivity for its customers. This integration helps public safety agencies deploy the service more quickly and with fewer technical barriers. For ECCs already using Motorola Solutions CAD systems, enabling ASAP becomes a natural extension of their existing infrastructure to help reduce deployment time and cost. "Seconds can make all the difference in an emergency," said Todd Piett, senior vice president, Command Center and Cloud Solutions, Motorola Solutions. "By creating a direct digital connection between alarm companies and 911 dispatch software through the ASAP Service, we can help keep emergency lines open for those in need while reducing manual coordination for dispatchers."

Pye-Barker marks National Safety Month with workplace guidance

ATLANTA—Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is marking National Safety Month by sharing workplace safety recommendations for business leaders, emphasizing the importance of organizational culture and employee engagement in effective safety programs. The company, which provides fire protection, life safety and security services, said its 80-year history has demonstrated that safety outcomes are closely tied to how organizations prioritize and communicate safety across their workforce. “A true safety culture takes hold only when every team member feels valued, empowered and personally invested in protecting one another,” CEO Bart Proctor said. "Our experience has taught us a constant truth: better tools, better technology and deeper knowledge only reach their full potential in the hands of people who genuinely care." Pye-Barker said that businesses should regularly evaluate fire protection and life safety systems through testing, inspection and maintenance, ideally in coordination with qualified service providers, to maintain code compliance and reduce risk. The company also pointed to employee training as a key component of workplace safety, recommending that organizations tailor education programs to specific work environments and reinforce safe behavior through recognition and communication. “It’s imperative to foster transparency and a ‘see something, say something’ culture so that employees feel confident reporting potential hazards in the workplace,” said Rebecca True, chief human resources officer. Pye-Barker highlighted common sources of workplace fire risk, including cooking equipment and electrical systems, noting that many incidents stem from preventable human factors. Maintaining equipment and providing clear usage guidelines can help mitigate these risks, it said, adding that investments in safety programs can contribute to reduced insurance costs, minimized operational disruptions and improved employee satisfaction.
