VP corp. development, Tech Systems Inc.

Andy Chambers worked in security forces in the U.S. Air Force, with the goal of “protecting people, property and resources, whether it was nuclear weapons or security for the Stealth bomber,” he said. When he left the military Chambers wanted to do something similar.

It was his wife who found an advertisement for Tech Systems in the newspaper. “I started in an apprentice program. I found that the values I learned growing up and in the military I could carry on at Tech Systems. It was a win-win.”

One of the cool things about Tech Systems is that much of the staff works remotely most of the time. Chambers says at Tech Systems “we make technology work for us” to enable employees keeping in touch with clients, with team members and with management and with customers.

Working remotely “saves time and money for our employees, they don't spend time in vehicles, it saves gas and it makes people more productive,” he said. The company has plenty of collaboration with daily communication, frequent webinars and quarterly get-togethers.

The important thing, Chambers said, is “to get the team right and to afford them every luxury available to do their jobs. We empower them And we learn from them.”

Chambers believes the most promising new technology is TSI's managed services. “Managed services enhance our FOCUS (For Our Clients Ultimate Satisfaction) Support Services,” which is the cornerstone of Tech Systems' business plan. “We want to provide additional value to our clients and [proactive services as well]. “We don't wait for clients to call us,” he said.
