Kwikset deadbolt wins CEDIA award

LAKE FOREST, Calif.—Kwikset's SmartCode 914 Deadbolt received a Manufacturers' Excellence Award at the CEDIA Expo 2013, the company announced this week. The updated deadbolt, with HomeConnect technology, was one of 10 winners in the Best New Product category.
The new version of SmartCode 914 deadbolts feature a quiet lock and updated appearance, with a new exterior style and a smaller interior for enhanced aesthetics, the company said in an Oct. 28 release. The deadbolts work with home security and automation systems.
“It's not often that an upgraded version of a well-respected and top-selling product gets recognized unless there are significant enhancements,” Keith Brandon, Kwikset director of residential access solutions, said in a prepared statement. “What's more, this lock was created based on feedback and input from the market. We listened to what our customers wanted, and we responded with an award-winning product.”
Kwikset manufactures and markets door locks and door hardware.
