Honeywell commercial fire radio for VISTA panels eliminates POTS need

MELVILLE, N.Y.—Honeywell this week introduced a new commercial fire radio that meets NFPA 72 2013 requirements for 60-minute supervision and can function as the sole path of alarm signal transport.
By installing the new iGSMCFP4G radio in place of costly POTS lines, security professionals have a new RMR stream and end users also benefit from the eliminated expense of dedicated phone lines, according to a July 8 news release.

Weinstock Award winner named

IRVING, Texas—Charles “Dom” D'Ascoli has received the 2013 Morris F. Weinstock Person of the Year Award, the Electronic Security Association announced Jan. 21. D'Ascoli will formally receive the award at the Electronic Security Expo in Nashville, Tenn., in June.
Presented annually since 1970, the Weinstock award outstanding achievement and ongoing efforts on behalf of the association. The winner is nominated and selected by former award winners, according to a news release.

Ackerman receives Medal of Valor at Honeywell Connect

ATLANTA—Ackerman Security Systems received the Medal of Valor Award at Honeywell's Connect 2013 annual meeting, the company announced Nov. 14. It was one of several the company received.

The Honeywell Connect2013 event, which took place November 8-10 in Los Angeles, was declared a success by all the dealers I spoke to.
Of course, dealers generally enjoy themselves at these conventions. There are networking events and parties, educational sessions and parties, awards and parties, speeches and more parties. You get the idea. Honeywell works hard to ensure that its dealers are treated well.

PARK CITY, Utah—Fresh off moderating a PERS Summit panel, Barry Epstein, president of Dallas-based Vertex Capital, expects the PERS acquisition market to heat up as valuations climb.�
