Matrix Systems launches in-house 'Lean' initiative

MIAMISBURG, Ohio—Matrix Systems, an access control and security solutions provider, is implementing an array of strategies designed to increase efficiency in manufacturing and R&D, and to further improve customer service, according to a company statement.

The strategy will involve several areas of emphasis including the development of a “Lean transformation plan,” the implementation of advanced companywide training among employees both local and remote, and a value mapping exercise to improve customer proposal accuracy and lead time, the statement noted.

The initiative is designed to give Matrix a competitive advantage to achieve “aggressive strategic goals.”

“Our goal is to continue to put our customers first and to improve quality, efficiency and value by using Lean as the foundation for the company,” Holly Tsourides, CEO of Matrix, said in the statement. “The various Lean methods will touch every aspect of our business to improve responsiveness and increase throughput while the overall strategy will spearhead development of a set of common tools and language to successfully accomplish our growth objective.”
