Medical Guardian adds Sunil Vulli as its new CTO Vulli sees IoT improving and empowering the end user’s experience

PHILADELPHIA—Medical Guardian recently added its first CTO, Sunil Vulli, whose experience with lifestyle consumer products will help the company as it develops new products and offerings.

Vulli told Security Systems News that he has always had an interest in “technology and how it applies to human life, and how it enhances and empowers them in living.”

A PERS system is more than just an alarm, according to Vulli. “There is much more, from the experience perspective, that [the] Internet of Things can provide. In my role, that's what I'm trying to pursue; wherein it's not just a button that you're wearing. That device has much more to offer you in terms of with what we are doing with Freedom Guardian right now, where it's a connected device, it's a connected health care partner that can really empower your life.”

Freedom Guardian is the smart watch specifically designed for seniors that Medical Guardian launched at CES 2018. The watch is designed to have both emergency capabilities and everyday uses.

Freedom Guardian is also Vulli's first project as Medical Guardian's CTO, which is intended for commercial rollout at the end of Q2.

Vulli has about 15 years of experience in the direct to consumer product and services industry. Specifically, Vulli has held marketing and technology positions with Hihealth, Nutrisystem and LifeShield. Vulli officially started with Medical Guardian about 4 weeks ago, he said.

This experience will help in the formation of the Freedom Guardian, Vulli said, such as “walking through the different phases of that product development and making sure that it's not just a one-off product, but it's an ecosystem that we're building and the features that we are adding.”

Geoff Gross, Medical Guardian's founder and CEO, said in a prepared statement, “Capitalizing on advancements in technology is critical to improving support systems for the older adult community and continuing to improve our alert systems with innovations that best fit our customers' lifestyles and needs.”

Gross continued, “Sunil's extensive digital background and experience will be a huge asset as we continue to build upon our momentum and create a stronger link between the healthcare and technology industries.”
